Arthurs Lake
Well race fans the competition is hotting up, with both competitors having lakes trips in the last few weeks, and the sea runner season in full swing. At this stage neither Andrew or I have been able to bag a big sea runner, but we have both had our chances, and I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
At a recent trip to Arthurs Lake I was able to extend my lead with 3 trout in excellent condition. However the conditions were difficult with non-stop drizzle and constant easterly weather, which is not conducive to good fishing.
Arthurs Lake.
This lake will undoubtable be mentioned several times in the bloggs to come. One of the bigger lakes in Tasmania’s Central Highlands, Arthurs Lake was dammed in 1923 and again in 1964, which resulted in the combination on the Sand Lake, the Blue Lake, and the Morass marsh. This lake is considered the most productive trout water in Tasmania, and with the Great Lake currently experiencing pathetically low water levels, Arthurs will no doubt be more popular than ever this year. We also both have access to shacks at this lake, and there is plenty of good camping opportunities. Arthurs also lends itself to all kinds of trout fishing, and there is plenty of access either by boat, or for the shore fisherman.
